Beyond Real Estate: The People and Connections We're Grateful For

October is a time when many of us pause to reflect on what we're thankful for. Family, friends, good health, and the people who make a difference in our lives. For me, it's also a time to appreciate the relationships we've built through our business and the incredible people we get to work alongside. Over my years in real estate, one thing I've come to appreciate is just how important relationships are. Not only the relationships we build with our clients, but also those we've developed with other professionals and local businesses throughout London and the surrounding communities. Because helping someone buy or sell a home is rarely something we do alone. Behind every successful move, there are often many people working together to help make things happen. And long after the keys have changed hands, those relationships can continue to provide value to our clients.

More Than Just a Real Estate Team

When someone chooses to work with The JN Real Estate Team, they're trusting us with an important chapter of their life. Of course, our primary responsibility is helping them make informed real estate decisions, negotiate effectively, and navigate the buying or selling process. But I also believe part of being a great advisor is knowing when to bring other knowledgeable people into the conversation.

Over the years, we've developed relationships with mortgage professionals, lawyers, home inspectors, contractors, tradespeople, financial advisors, insurance professionals, and many other local businesses. These connections can be invaluable.

Maybe you're buying your first home and need help understanding financing options. Perhaps you're preparing to sell and need a reliable contractor for a few repairs. Or maybe you've lived in your home for years and are looking for someone to help with a renovation, landscaping project, or another service.

Rather than starting from scratch, wouldn't it be nice to have someone you trust point you in the right direction? That's something we strive to offer our clients. We don't pretend to be experts in everything. Instead, we recognize the value of connecting people with professionals who know their respective fields. And while every client should make their own informed decisions when hiring someone, we're always happy to share the connections and experiences we've built along the way.

Supporting the Businesses That Support Our Community

There's another important part of this conversation: supporting local businesses. London and our surrounding communities are filled with hardworking entrepreneurs who take pride in what they do. Many have spent years building their businesses through personal relationships, excellent service, and a genuine commitment to their customers. As a business owner myself, I appreciate how much work goes into building that kind of reputation. And when we find people who share our commitment to service and relationships, we want to support them. This month, I'd like to recognize one of those wonderful local business owners.

Local Business Spotlight: Geraldine Peters of Jim Anderson Flowers

If you've worked with our team, there's a chance you've received a beautiful arrangement of flowers from us over the years. Many of those arrangements have come from Geraldine Peters, owner of Jim Anderson Flowers here in London. Geraldine has been a wonderful connection for our team, helping us recognize and celebrate important moments with our clients. What I appreciate is the personal attention and care she brings to her work. Whether we're ordering an arrangement for a client or looking for something special, she's someone we're grateful to be able to call.

Jim Anderson Flowers has been serving London since 1976, creating floral arrangements for all kinds of occasions. From birthdays and anniversaries to congratulations, sympathy arrangements, and everyday gestures of appreciation, flowers have a wonderful way of communicating something meaningful.

Geraldine and her team also work with larger celebrations, including weddings and other special events such as showers. And that's something worth highlighting. Sometimes you want to send a little something to brighten someone's day. Other times you're planning a significant event and need someone who can help bring everything together. Having a local business you can turn to for both is a real benefit.

So, Geraldine, thank you for the wonderful work you do and for helping us share a little appreciation with so many of our clients.

If you're planning a special occasion or simply want to send someone flowers to let them know you're thinking of them, we'd encourage you to connect with Geraldine and her team.

Our Relationships Don't End on Closing Day

One of the things I've always valued about real estate is the opportunity to build long-term relationships. A home purchase or sale may be what brings us together, but the relationship doesn't have to end there. Our clients go on to experience all kinds of life events. Families grow, children graduate, homes need updating, businesses evolve, and new chapters begin. Throughout those changes, we want our clients to know they can still reach out to us. Sometimes that will be for real estate advice. Other times it might be as simple as asking: "Jeff, do you know someone who could help us with this?" And quite often, we do. If we don't, we'll do our best to point you toward someone who might. That's one of the benefits of being involved in this community for so many years. You meet incredible people, build lasting relationships, and have opportunities to connect others along the way.

A Little Gratitude Goes a Long Way

As we enjoy the Thanksgiving season, I want to say thank you. To our clients who continue to put their trust in us, to those who recommend our team to friends and family, and to the many local professionals and business owners who help us look after the people we serve. We're fortunate to have such a wonderful network of relationships, and we never take that for granted. And if there's ever a service or professional you're looking for, whether it's related to your home or something happening in your life, please don't hesitate to ask. We may just know the right person.

After all, great relationships are at the heart of every great community.
